I have an intense desire to use material I find around me to create with. I find it super satisfying to reclaim items that might be destined for the trash and instead transform them into something that transcends what it once was.
My metal birds are built from many different cans and tins. Most are recycled from the trash, some are found at thrift stores and some are bought in grocery stores. Many of the birds pictured here are no longer available. Since I use collected material, all pieces are one of a kind but I often make several birds of the same form and style so please e-mail if you are interested in a particular bird that is pictured. I have made many more pieces than what appear here. I am working on getting more images up.
